Children

I have been told that children can be cruel,
And frankly, I don't much understand them.
I never quite have - ask anyone who knows me.
But I have seen them be cruel - rip each other apart.
I have also seen a bottomless love that cures all.
Perhaps I still don't understand them.
I just think that they are remarkably what the are,
And understanding them is merely moot.
